THE GREENHOUSE EFFECT
Reduce the temperature inside your home! Infra red rays are transmitted into your home from the sun in the form of short wave radiation. Short wave radiation which is capable of piercing through glass, is blocked by the exterior structure of your home but, not your windows. Once these rays pass through your windows and touch any surface inside your home, such as floor , walls, ceiling drapes or furniture, they are absorbed and converted into long wave radiation (heat). This heat is incapable of escaping back through the windows to the outside and becomes trapped inside your home. You therefore experience a build up of heat.
